Quarter 2: Let's do this!

Hi 5B Families!

It was so great meeting you all at parent teacher conferences! This year has been a blast so far, and I see a lot of great progress. Let's keep it going through the last two months before winter break.

Here are some updates and important events happening in our room:

-We created a virtual timeline of the American Revolution. Take a look at the video HERE. The students did a really great job!!

-Our Words on the Vine test and contract is due this Friday, 11/8. Students have had two weeks to learn these words!

-DOK Level 2 Task 1 is also due this Friday. Students have had over 5 hours to work on this!!

-Some students may have Novel Study Retakes OR American Revolution Open Book Quiz retakes. Students who are REQUIRED to do these retakes received a paper explaining their retake today. There is no official due date for these retakes, other then before the end of the quarter.

-For our read aloud book we will be creating life-sized scarecrow characters! We will be working with our art teacher, Mrs. Moss, to bring these characters to life. In order to do this we will need things to 'stuff' our scarecrows (ex. newspapers, ad papers, bubble wrap, straw, etc.) Students will also be needing clothing, wigs and accessories. All items used will be returned. Feel free to use that what you have at home or go to the local goodwill to gather what you need. Ask your child about what character they have chosen!

-All grades are updated in Eschool. Remember: all students can retake summative assessments once. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about grades.
